Friends with Gigabits

Good morning everyone, and a very happy Monday! Today we are going to talk about a popular topic, especially this day in age. I’m talking about the concept of “online friends”. Through many different platforms of online media, we come across a wide variety of people, from all corners of the world, a true digital plethora of culture. We may meet like-minded individuals whom we forge bonds with, sometimes as strong as to those individuals we know on an in person basis. My own personal experience with this topic has for the most part been positive, having met many amazing friends through multiple online outlets, from games to chatting applications. Some of these individuals I would even consider my “closest” friends, even if they are currently hundreds if not thousands of miles away. This is now a fairly mainstream occurrence considering the world’s dependency on an ever developing technological forefront, making personal interaction “obsolete” and broadening one’s reach to the world. Being an avid user of technology for both my Graphic Design work and my personal use of social media, internet searching, shopping, etc, I find it to be both an extremely convenient, yet dangerous scenario, as with anything, you still want to exercise caution when putting yourself out there, as you can lose everything, including your life, with just one click, one text, one simple post. So as we continue advancing into a technologically dominated world, remember to stay safe, but also appreciate the amazing opportunities it brings, and to cherish the friends you make along the way. I know I truly appreciate my own online or “yubo”friends (a lovely little chat app) , and love them as I do my in person friends. And who knows? Maybe one day they too will become my in person friends. That my friends, is just one plane ticket away! Remember to stay safe, stay humble, and stay healthy!

P.S. A special shout out to all of my “Yubo” and online friends, love you guys!

Definitely recommend checking out a few different apps, including Yubo, Houseparty, Hangouts, Kik, etc. You may just meet some cool people!
